Robyn's "Love Is Free" In Her New, Dizzying Video
Robyn is living her best life. After her mega-successful Body Talk trilogy, she linked up with Norwegian electro-duo Röyksopp, for a five-song mini-album that was one of 2015’s most-underrated projects. It marked her dive away from the pop side and deeper into dance music. This summer, she embarked on a similar endeavor with La Bagatelle Magique—a duo made up of Markus Jägerstedt and the late producer Christian Falk. Together, they made Love Is Free, a throwback to the dance-floor beats of two decades ago. It went under many people’s radars, but today, Robyn & Co. released the video for the title track that will surely pique many ears.
“Love Is Free” finds the pixie-cut Robyn romping through a stage saturated in playful hues. Her song cohort, Maluca, matches her infectious energy and rounds out her sugary edges. SSION directed the visual to Robyn’s delight. She said in a statement, “I loved working with SSION on this video! The thoughts Maluca, Markus, and I had about how to materialize 'Love Is Free' seemed to find a perfect place in Cody's fantastic world. Flesh and paint and dreams, both good ones and bad ones."
