Of all the shows Netflix is set to premiere this year (and trust us, there's a lot), none inspire the same level of hysteria as the imminent return of House of Cards. The cold-blooded political thriller, which signaled the streaming giant's arrival as a force to be reckoned within the world of prestige television when it debuted back in 2013, is back for its hugely anticipated fourth season. And with its premiere date just a month away, Netflix has finally dropped the first trailer.
As expected, the show will pick up right where it left off, with Frank and Claire Underwood locking horns in an epochal battle of wills. "You don't value what we have achieved," we hear Spacey say, as rapid fire clips whiz by to a blood-curdling score. "I have had to fight for everything my entire life." The trailer looks more like it's teasing a horror series, not one about the inner-workings of Washington. But anyone who's followed Frank's diabolical rise to The Oval Office knows that the line between politics and horror is a thin one.
The fourth season of House of Cards premieres March 4 on Netflix. Watch the first trailer above.
