Inside Lil Nas X's Show-Stopping Coach Collaboration

Transformation meets heritage at the Montero World Tour.

Lil Nas X is nothing if not a showman, and for his first-ever headlining Long Live Montero World Tour (running now through November 2022 in the US and Europe), the artist collaborated with Coach to create a show-stopping custom wardrobe for his performances.

Together with Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers, Lil Nas created six bespoke looks inspired by the rapper’s metamorphosis and transformation from internet star to award-winning artist. Tap through to see the details behind each look.

Combining Lil Nas’ style with the codes of the fashion house’s heritage, the artist and Coach transformed the iconic American varsity uniform with crystals and shades of pink.Coach
A reimagining of American westernwear crafted in Coach leather is also a nod to Lil Nas’ breakout hit, “Old Town Road,” and the ensuing yeehaw wave it spurred.Coach
The performance even includes a custom Coach signature horse, a nod to one of Coach’s first-ever codes, the horse and carriage, crafted with leather.Coach
The tour itself tells the origin story of Lil Nas X, with each show containing acts that span Montero’s stages of life, from birth, to childhood, to his emergence and growth as an artist. Coach
