Kim Petras Gets Ready for the British Fashion Awards

The pop star took London in an LBD from the H&M Metaverse collection.

On Monday evening, the fashion world flocked to London for the 2022 Fashion Awards, the U.K.’s answer to the CFDA Awards. There, stars like Florence Pugh, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rita Ora, and more, turned out their most daring looks to celebrate the most exciting names in fashion.

Among them: pop star Kim Petras, who took to the red carpet in a piece from H&M’s Metaverse Collection, which is in stores on December 22nd as part of the brand’s Innovation Stories initiative. Here, Petras takes us behind-the-scenes as she gets ready for the big night.

Describe your typical getting ready process:

There isn’t really a typical process because I’m dressed completely differently and have different ideas every day. The things that stay the same are skincare, haircare, just all of the care stuff. That’s the foundation for feeling good in your look. Perfume, too.

Naomi Campbell, because she is the queen of the world.

What are your favorite things to do in London?

I try to see some of my friends, go to pubs. I love going to Liberty’s — it’s just one of those magical places; I’m just really happy whenever I’m there. And vintage shopping. The vintage shopping is out of control amazing in London.
