Where art and sport technology meet for a good cause…

When we opened the mysterious box that landed on our desk this morning, one thing was for sure--whatever it was, it would be good because our homie

Mike Shinoda

always sends the very best stuff our way

. It turns out our buddy has teamed up with

snowboarding gear extraordinaire 686

to produce an amazing limited-edition parka.

Shinoda, who began snowboarding at the age of 15 said that his favorite high school memories were made on a snowboard, so what better way to bring things full circle? This specific piece, limited to 200 copies worldwide, was made with the purpose to raise funds and awareness for the Linkin Park-founded organization

Music For Relief

. The jacket, dubbed the "

686 X Mike Shinoda Hyena Camo 15K

," was designed inside and out, top to bottom, by Shinoda, who in case you didn't know[,] holds a Art Center doctorate. The camo, trim, and embroidery were his design exclusively for this piece. The parka not only looks fresh, but the technical aspects include zip-off hood and powder skit, hidden vent zippers throughout the garment, taped seams, and 686's infiDRY waterproof fabric. In short, this bad boy is weatherproof on the mountain or in the streets.
