nelly furtado is back with new music

News of the Day:

+ Blood Orange and Nelly Furtado collaborated on a song together! It's called "Hadron Collider" and is currently only available on cassette tapes that were exclusively released at the Blood Orange & Friends shows at the Apollo Theater this weekend. All of the proceeds went toward Opus 118 Harlem School of Music. Special guest performers included Furtado, Solange Knowles, Kindness, Caroline Polachek, Junglepussy, Ratking and Le1f. + Former Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw was found guilty of raping 13 black women while on duty and sentenced to 263 years in prison. He was convicted on 18 of 36 counts of sexual assault.

+ Kerry Washington scored a major beauty deal with OPI as their new creative ambassador. Fingers crossed that more women of color in the entertainment industry will get these opportunities in the new year!

+ Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have pledged to donate 1,000 pairs of shoes to the charity Soles4Souls, which distributes free footwear to deprived regions.

+ Watch MØ perform "New Year's Eve" at the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo.
