8@8: Your Morning Scoop

RiRi is using her money for good.

Today is...

National Shrimp Day!

News of the Day:

+ Rihanna is paying for students to go to college through the Clara Lionel Foundation. The scholarship fund was created in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. Eligible candidates must live in Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Guyana, Jamaica, or the U.S., and have been accepted into a four-year college for the 2016–2017 school year.

+ Do you want to #freetheniple without being too exposed? Download Mips, an app that allows users to create crafty collages while also tastefully covering up areas that Instagram deems inappropriate.

+ Ring the alarm—police had the nerve to protest Beyoncé's hometown show in Houston this weekend. On another note, a local news station interviewed a man who read a book during Bey's concert in Raleigh, North Carolina. Apparently, #boycottbeyonce is in full effect.

Balenciaga designed a fancy neck pillow, because you can't have comfort without style these days.

+ Prepare to be completely mesmerized by Canadian singer-songwriter Ruth B in her new music video for "Lost Boy."

Deal of the Day:

Mark your calendar and keep Saturday, May 14 wide open—NYLON's amazing Editor-In-Chief will be speaking on a panel for Empowering Women in the Creative Community at Sincerely, Tommy in Brooklyn, NY! RSVP is required :)

Advice of the Day:

"The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently."- Rihanna
