adam selman’s bringing platform converse back

taking summer to new heights

by nylon

The man behind Rihanna’s infamous naked dress has done it again. Well, sort of. Adam Selman’s spring/summer 2016 collection packed all the glamour of his muse’s 2014 CFDA gown, but with more denim, cotton, and covered assets than sheer crystals. It was a deliciously tropical affair for the urban-minded female.

Showing at the new, coveted time of 8 p.m. at MADE, Selman sent models down a pulsating runway with flowing skirts, cupcake crop-tops, billowing trousers, and hair bows ripped straight from beachside nostalgia. Floral patterns and slim-flower chokers brought an air of innocence to the whole collection, while custom platform Converse brought a little punk. It’s was a perfect wedding of the growing 1970s trend with the omnipresent ‘90s affair. If life is truly a beach, let’s hope it turns out to be like Selman’s vision: easy, breezy, and unabashedly chill.
