it’s called “when we were young”

Update: A full, breathtaking version of "When We Were Young" just dropped and is embeded above.

Happy Adele Week, everybody. The British chanteuse that could drops her long-awaited, super-hyped, and likely emotional third album this Friday. By now you know it’s called 25 and features that song “Hello.” Up until today, however, Adele and her team have kept mum about the album’s other songs. Instead of releasing singles and preview tracks, Adele’s been teasing the concept behind the album, doing editorial cover stories, debuting the album’s cover, and breaking records. Now, we’ve got another sonic glimpse at the project. Say hello to “When We Were Young.”

Adele will be on 60 Minutes Australia this coming Sunday, November 22. A preview for the interview shows the Academy Award-winning singer performing a live version of “When We Were Young,” another surefire emotional roller coaster following the album’s theme of forgiving, forgetting, and moving on.

“My last record was a break-up record,” Adele wrote in a social media post from late October, “and if I had to label this one, I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did.” From what we can hear, this song fits bill perfectly. Adele, much like winter, is coming.
