The AMAs Had The Most On-Trend Red Carpet Of 2017
Think: sequins, red, and leather lingerie
As 2017 (thankfully) nears an end, the year’s awards shows are also beginning to wind down. Last night’s American Music Awards, one of the last major ceremonies we’ll be seeing before 2018, proved that the year is going out with a bang, as it featured one of the best dressed red carpets we’ve seen all year. (Rihanna’s iconic Commes Des Garcons moment at the Met Gala was, of course, one of—if not the—best looks of the year, but that's a different story.)
What made this particular carpet so unforgettable? Well, first, there was a boudoir-inspired moment happening all across the boards; it ranged on the spectrum of soft and feminine lingerie all the way to BDSM-inspired leather looks. Additionally, we saw variations on fall’s hottest color—red—in everything from deep brick to coral tulle, as well as a ton of (tasteful) sequins.
Those who chose not to follow any trends still served some standout looks, with sculptural tulle to some straight-from-the-runway Prada magic.
Below, check out 18 of the night’s standout looks.
Madelaine Petsch rocked this gorgeous lace and feathered number by Fabianna Milazzo.
We’re here for Kehlani’s stunning peekaboo lace dress by AMEN.
