Anna Kendrick Is A Wedding Outcast In The ‘Table 19’ Trailer

We’ve all been there

There's nothing worse than showing up to a wedding and finding out you've been assigned to the table reserved for outcasts, forced to make contrived conversation with a bunch of strangers, all in the name of free dessert. That's the premise behind Anna Kendrick's upcoming comedy Table 19, in which she plays the ex-girlfriend of the best man at a wedding she has no business being at. When she finds herself at the titular table with fellow outliers Lisa Kudrow, Craig Robinson, June Squibb, Stephen Merchant, and Tony Revolori, she can either drown her sorrows in her carrot soup or make the most out of an awkward situation.

Judging by the new trailer, Kendrick makes the most of it by confronting her ex, dancing with a dashing British stranger, and joining forces with the rest of her table to embark on a night neither of them will ever forget. The film was directed by Jeffrey Blitz and written by Hollywood golden boys Mark and Jay Duplass, which means we can probably expect a nuanced, touching, and playful examination of group dynamics, love, and friendship.

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait quite some time to find out whether or not Table 19 becomes the cult classic it feels like it should be, as it doesn't hit theaters until January 20. At least that gives us plenty of time to RSVP.
