ashley olsen’s neutral state

here’s how to copy her barefaced look.

True Life: I Wanna An Olsen

might not exist (well, not yet--MTV, you listening?) but as far as we're concerned at NYLON, it might as well be a real life condition. Mary-Kate and Ashley are seriously on a beauty roll these days, especially after announcing they're rolling out the

first "adult" fragrance

under the Elizabeth and James brand.

But while we'll have to wait until next year to get our hands on Nirvana, last night at Club Monaco's 5th Avenue store opening we were able to spot Ashley's beauty game in action. The actress-turned-designer arrived working what we're official calling the "new neutral": an even, porcelain complexion, nude lips, and the only pop of color, glimmering coral eyeshadow. It's the perfect pared-down antidote to the

ultra-dramatic lipstick

we've been seeing all season long, and fortunately for everyone else, it's super-easy to steal. See how below:

SMOOTH IT:

Makeup Forever HD Invisible Coverage, $42

Full coverage here is key, so start by smoothing on this moisturizing foundation. It covers up blemishes and dark circles without looking cakey and fake--which, if you think about it, is basically all we can ask for.

CORAL IT:

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Loose Color Concentrate in Glisten, $14

Using your finger or a shadow brush, dab just a tiny bit of this all over your lids (and on your lower lash line). This shimmery coral hue is so dense, you only need a little to get Ashley's effect.

SWIPE IT:

Nars Lipstick in Cruising, $26

Finish things off with a coat of nude lipstick. More pink than beige, the color is understated while still being cool (ahem, just like Ashley...).
