BEAUTY QUEEN: JESSICA BIEL

smokey eyes for summer.

by ray siegel

As our summer beauty inspiration kick continues, we take a closer look at Jessica Biel at the Time 100 Gala. It's a little bit Mad Men, it's a little bit modern, but the real takeaway is that it's a lighter, more summery approach to smokey eyes. Makeup artist Beau Nelson told us exactly where the idea came from: "Jessica has beautiful skin and stunning green eyes that I wanted to play up. I thought giving her a sexy sultry warm brown smokey eye would look great with her Tom Ford dress." Here are the exact products and techniques that Nelson used on Biel:

CONTOUR IT:Chanel Sublimage La Creme, $390

"After applying Chanel Sublimage La Creme and Chanel Sublimage La Creme Yeux, I used Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation on a synthetic brush in small circular motions to buff into the face. I contoured the face with Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate in Shade 1 and added further shape and dimension with Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna. I added a touch of color to the cheeks with Burberry Blush in Tangerine."

LINE IT:MAC Eye Pencil in Coffee, $16

"On eyes I defined the shape with MAC eye pencil and blended shades from Tom Ford Eye Color Quads in Cognac Sable and Cocoa Mirage around the eyes. I lined the inner rim of the eye with Elizabeth Arden Smoky Eyes Powder Pencil in Espresso. I curled lashes and applied L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black."

PAINT IT:Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Biscayne Park, $25

"On the lips I used the Nars lip pencil and Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in Peach Absolute. I finished the look by applying Tom Ford Illuminating Highlight Pen in Citrine on the tops of cheekbones and the cupid's bow of lips."
