BEAUTY QUEEN: KATE BOSWORTH

beach waves that look good far from the sand.

by rebecca willa davis

We love beach-y waves year-round, be it November or February, but we particularly love them when it's actual, you know, beach season.

And clearly, so does Kate Bosworth. The actress, whose Big Sur comes out this year, usually favors stick-straight or pulled back, but for Stella McCartney's resort '14 presentation she looked like she just wrapped shooting Blue Crush. And while getting up on your board may take some time, this look is actually pretty easy; if you'd rather not sleep on wet hair (or, alternatively, go for a morning swim), try our three-step process.

WASH IT: Bumble and bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo and Bumble and bumble Surf Creme Rinse Conditioner

After years of setting the bar for surf sprays, Bumble and bumble released a shampoo-conditioner that preps hair for beach-y texture before you even leave the shower.

WAVE IT: Sarah Potempa Beachwaver Styling Iron - $199

This curling iron does the twisting and turning for you--which means waves, rather than tight pin-curls that you'd otherwise get from your average tool.

GLOSS IT: Tigi Bed Head Headrush Shine Adrenaline Superfine Mist Spray - $18

Don't let your locks look dull--once hair is dry, add a bit of gloss by spraying this all over your head.
