BEAUTY QUEEN: OLIVIA WILDE
we’re really into the wilde.
A smokey eye is kind of like black leather: Most of us stick to wearing it only in the winter time. But if done right (like the perfect pair of thin leather shorts), we totally approve of a smokey look for spring.
Enter Olivia Wilde--seen this week at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her documentary short Rider and the Storm--looking perfectly casual in J. Brand skinny jeans and a T-shirt. It's slightly underdressed (which we love), but her subtle purply-coal smokey eye paired with her dewy complexion and slightly rosy lips, makes the whole vibe look fresh and polished. Here's how to get the look:
MATTE IT: NYX Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact ($34) As it starts to transition to the warmer months, we tend to ditch the thick creams and foundations. Applied with a contour blush brush, this powder will give your skin a perfect compromise between matte and dewy.
SHADOW IT: NYX Smokey Eye Shadow Palette ($7) If wanting a not-so-smokey smokey eye, this palette works wonders. Use the charcoal shade to line your bottom lid, and the plum-like maroon color for your upper eye liner. Lastly, use your pinky finger to dust the creamy white on the inner corner of your eye. Finish it off with a couple coats of your favorite mascara.
LIP IT:Dior Jelly Lip Pen in "Gaia" ($26) A balm, a gloss, and a lipstick all in one. And this rosy pink translucent hue is subtle enough to wear all spring.
