beauty queen: solange

We've become a little obsessive about Solange Knowles thanks in part to her penchant for wearing crazy prints (often on top of even crazier prints).

But at last night's Max Mara party in New York City, the It Girl musician caught our eye not for what she was wearing (though that buttercup yellow dress was hard to miss) but what she was doing from the neck up. She wore that shade of lilac-tinged bubblegum pink--you know the one: totally summer-y but a little intimidating to pull off. But she does it (and really, if you can stand out against a wall of technicolor flowers, you can take on anything), and here's how you can too:

With bold lips, it's important to keep your eyes low-key. With a black pencil, line theinside of your upper and lower lids to get that just-subtle-enough definition.
