BEST DRESSED 2012

who’s taking home the crown?

by nylon

In addition to Obama winning the election, the London Olympics, and the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, some of our most memorable moments of 2012 occurred right here at the NYLON office, huddled in front of a computer screen, as we ogled over the latest red carpet look to hit our inbox. From the wild to the scantily clad, NSFW ensembles, this year has seen it all. But who wins the ultimate, 16-karat gold and Swarovski crystal bedazzled (and, yes, imaginary), NYLON Best Dressed of 2012 crown? Well, as we live in a democratic nation, it's only fair if everyone gets a vote. So without further ado, here are the nominees.

Rebecca Willa Davis (Online Executive Editor): Elizabeth Olsen For a split second I thought we somehow time traveled back to Paris in the 1960s and Elizabeth Olsen had been cast alongside Anna Karina in the next Godard film. And then I realized, no, she just looks so insanely, effortlessly cool in this outfit that even the most glammed-up red carpet outfit would pale in comparison.

Ray Siegel (Senior Web Editor): Alexa Chung Not monochromatic? Not interested. Furthermore, who other than Ms. Chung can make leather look so regal?

Ali Hoffman (Web Editor): Lily Collins Wearing Mulberry, Lily Collins manages to make a fancy black gown look fresh and cool. Plus, she wore an ear cuff- so major points there.

Nicolette Kuhn (Office Coordinator): Chloe Sevigny Ah, Chloe Sevigny. At the Miu Miu SS13 show in October, she wore nothing but. A vision in merlot, Chloe perfectly mixes patterns and pairs them with basic accessories. A little class with a little sass, just as we like her.
