BEST DRESSED: FEBRUARY
our favorite looks of the month, sans ball gowns.
From the Oscars to the Independent Spirit Awards, to the Grammys, we've seen our fair share of black tie looks this past month. And, yes, we definitely spent a good deal of time gawking over our favorite gowns. But when it comes to the looks we actually want to wear, we tend to go for the more casual ensembles. And the past four weeks have pretty much been a goldmine. Don't believe us? Well, to prove it, we've narrowed it down to our top five looks of the month. Check out our picks below and vote for your favorite in the comments section!
Rebecca Davis, Executive Web Editor: Vanessa Hudgens With Spring Breakers coming out next month, I've been seeing a lot of red carpet shots of Vanessa Hudgens. And this is hands down the best I've seen her look--possibly ever. Besides the fact that this is Opening Ceremony pre-fall '13 (so badass to get her hands on it months early) and she's wearing it to the Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony presentation during New York Fashion Week (where she was rubbing elbows with, oh, just Kim Gordon), I just love the graphic, mod, almost '60s go-go girl vibe of the outfit. I'd take a page from this head-to-toe look and wear it just about everywhere...including to the movie theater to see her new movie, of course."
Ray Siegel, Senior Web Editor: Lily Aldridge
"Too much crazy street style has me falling back on the basics, which is why my entire winter wardrobe is based upon these three crucial building blocks: chunky sweaters, skinny jeans, pointy-toe boots. Never have I seen them come together as beautifully as they did when Lily Aldridge got her hands on them to create this outfit. Sidenote: Forget what the haters say—I still love the Chloe Susan."
Ali Hoffman, Web Editor:Kate Bosworth "This outfit alsmost looks mismatched. I love that it doesn't totally work--the proportions of the skirt-shirt combo is a little bit off, and the shoes don't totally compliment the whole look. But that's kind of the point, right? She looks super cool. And, plus, it's pretty awesome that you can buy the entire outfit at Topshop."
Blair Waters, Associate TV Producer: Cara Delevigne "It's a little crazy. She kind of looks like she's wearing a slutty bumble bee costume. What more could you want? And I love the bustier. A lot of weird things are going on here, but it works. Well, definitely on her."
Lynette Perez, Intern: Rita Ora "It's relatively hard to rock a baggy all white outfit without looking overly pristine or pope-like, but Rita Ora's look is on point from every angle. Her loose top and trousers are paired perfectly with a structured white doctor bag, and a black leather jacket and pair of sunglasses add an element of rock and roll I think every outfit needs. To top it off, confidence oozes out from a casual smirk behind her coral lips."
