BEST DRESSED: THE GREAT GATSBY PREMIERE
the roaring red carpet.
Baz Luhrmann is the master at taking a classic story and giving it an updated twist. Take The Great Gatsby, which reimagines "Crazy in Love" as a ragtime jam.
So we weren't that surprised to see that at the film's New York premiere last night, there was a real mix of old and new glamour on the red carpet. Florence Welch had a Miu Miu dress that seems perfect for performing the Andrews Sisters song "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," Adelaide Clemens had a Art Deco-inspired, intricately beaded gown, and Carey Mulligan was in a perfectly sculpted Lanvin strapless.
We couldn't say this was one big throwback red carpet, but it was way less predictable than your average premiere. Scroll through to see what our favorite ladies wore--and then let us know which look you're loving.
