Time to loosen your corsets, unpin your bustles, and get down to the real business of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala: the best dressed list.

The theme of this year's ball, Charles James' couture creations from the early 20th century, provided some really excellent inspiration for the very on-trend bustles of Taylor Swift and Felicity Jones. Some guests ditched the dress code (maybe they're still stuck on the punk theme of last year?) for ruffles (like Chloe Grace Moretz in Chanel), mod-prints (Michelle Williams in a Louis Vuitton shift), pants (hello, Cara Delevingne!), and plenty of sheer, slinky dresses (ahem Diane Kruger and Beyonce).
