Spin This: Ty Segall's Manipulator, Out Tomorrow
Yep, that's right. Everyone's favorite garage rock king, Ty Segall, is dropping his seventh studio album, Manipulator, tomorrow. The 17-track record comes in every form of musical recording you could possibly need (think LP, CD, Cassette, MP3, and FLAC), and, yes, you can expect that we'll be scooping up all five versions. Even better? There's an entire tour to go along with it.
Party Hardy: Happy 30th Birthday, Ghostbusters!
Besides the fact that you'll probably have tons of awesome BBQs to hit up this Labor Day Weekend, if things end up getting overheated, there's always...the movies. And this year's LBDW silver screen special comes with a 30th anniversary screening of Ghostbusters. Originally released in 1984, the comedy flick about ghost-fighting parapsychologists starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Sigourney Weaver is coming back to the big screen. Check Fandango to see if your city will be hooked up with the remastered 4k Sony re-issue. If not, you can borrow our VHS copy of the old-school classic.
Watch This: The 66th Annual Emmy Awards are on Tonight
Already over everything VMAs? It's all good, because there's another awards show on tonight, and this time, your favorite TV shows are taking home the gold. This year's nominees include Bryan Cranston as Walter White on Breaking Bad for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series, Lena Dunham as Hannah Horvath on Girls for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series, Orange Is The New Black for Outstanding Comedy Series, plus way more. Who do you think will win? Tell us in the comments below!
Eat It Up: National Toasted Marshmallow Day
If there's any ultimate inspiration for National Toasted Marshmallow Day, it's the scene where they cook up s'mores in The Sandlot. So, if you're anything like us, this Saturday you'll grab your copy of the 1993 comedy drama, a bag of 'mallows--and get cookin'.
Go Here: Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Cloud Lounge
If you'll be in Chicago, Dallas, or San Francisco over the next few weeks, you'll definitely want to stop by a local ULTA Beauty location. What you'll find when you get there is an awesome art installation inspired by Marc Jacobs' new fragrance, Daisy Dream. We get it if your last-minute summer vacay plans may not include either of these three cities, but don't worry because you can re-live all of the Daisy Dream campaign glory by checking out our exclusive interview with its director, Sofia Coppola, right here.
Bonus: Kenzo Loves Printemps in Paris
If you're headed overseas in the next few weeks (to pull a Frances Ha or to study abroad, perhaps?) we know just the thing you have to check out. Awesome Parisian label Kenzo is showing their love for department sotre Printemps, by bringing in an exclusive capsule collection to the store from August 28 through October 18, featuring pieces inspired by David Lynch. Yeah, this is definitely worth hopping a plane for.
