Watch Beyoncé’s Dance Captain Ashley Everett Get Engaged Mid-Performance

Formation choreographer John Silver put a ring on it

At any given Beyoncé show, "Single Ladies" is one of the biggest and most consistent crowd pleasers. But during the St. Louis stop on her Formation World Tour, Bey took it to the next level. She stopped the song mid-performance so that her choreographer and the tour's creative director, John Silver, could propose to Beyoncé's dance captain, Ashley Everett, in front of his hometown crowd.

After handing him her golden microphone, Silver, calling Everett his "queen," told the crowd, "I feel like it's only right to come out here in front of my hometown, and show you guys what the epitome of a young woman looks like." Silver, who remained shockingly cool given the enormity of the moment, then got down on one knee to pop the question. A stunned Everett said yes, and an overly excited Beyoncé came over to congratulate the couple, before realizing—in the most meta moment in the history of Beyoncé concerts—that Silver was literally in the process of putting a ring on it.

“Now let’s see you do the choreography after that,” Beyoncé joked as her and her dancers snapped back into the song. Everett celebrated the moment on Instagram with a gushing post. “Shocked is an understatement. I’m so overly excited for this new chapter in our lives and of course I can’t wait to be your WIFE!!!” Watch it all go down above and read our interview with Ashley Everett here.
