If you've ever wondered what a life-changing moment looks like, check out this recently unearthed video of Blake Lively auditioning for the role of Serena van der Woodsen on the CW's Gossip Girl. Lively is acting out a scene from the pilot where she returns to Manhattan from boarding school and confronts her former best friend Blair Waldorf about her departure.
Just yesterday, Gossip Girl casting director David Rapaport told Buzzfeed that he was considering Rumer Willis for the part of Serena, and gave the iffy quote that at the time, "there were no Lena Dunhams or Zooey Deschanels—it was all about beauty and glamour, but being approachable and Blake was the ultimate It Girl.” Sure, whatever. Based on this audition tape, she was also right for the part because, you know, acting.
