Blake Lively Brought Hollywood To The White House In A Plunging Wrap Dress

was it too much?

by Jenna Igneri

Last night, the Obamas invited guests to the White House for a state dinner honoring Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau. The high-profile attendees included a number of notable Canadians now living in America, such as Mike Myers, Sandra Oh, and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels just to name a few.

However, when Vancouver-born Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively entered the dinner, they certainly stole the show. Lively wore a floor-length silk robe gown by Ralph & Russo, in a flattering shade of silver, which featured a plunging neckline, a tied waist, and quite a bit of leg. Reynolds looked dapper in a navy tux. Together, the two looked like the perfectly glamorous Old Hollywood couple.

As gorgeous as Lively may have looked, many are questioning whether or not it was a little bit too sexy for the White House. While, yes, it does closely resemble a silk bathrobe and does feature quite the low cut, we still think she looked absolutely stunning and polished, down to her perfectly placed shoulder cutouts.

This wouldn’t be the first time a celebrity received some criticism for what they wore to meet the Obamas. Just this past January, the Internet was buzzing over Cara Delevingne’s sneaker ensemble that she wore during her visit.
