BOOK CLUB: WAH NAILS

best. nail. art. book. ever.

by faran krentcil

Deep in East London, there's WAH, a little nail shop nestled in the street. It's a magical place where you can get unicorns, dinosaurs, pop art, or "plain" hearts and stars etched into your manicure by girls with studded Henry Holland jackets, glittery Jeremy Scott bindis, or long pink hair. (Bleach London is the salon that shares their space.) But if you can't make it to the UK, there is still a chance to become a WAH Girl, thanks to bookshelves around the country. Founder Sharmadean Reid has compiled some of her Greatest Hits - including eyeball nails, Mondrian nails, and Aztec tribal nails - and printed step-by-step instructions to DIY each one at home. To guide you through each look, there are illustrations, plus photos of WAH's "models" (really just their British friends, like CASSETTE PLAYA designer Carri Munden and filmmaker Grace Ladoja). And in the very back of the book, there are stickers of dinosaurs, Georgia Jagger's lips, and ice cream cones. (Because, like we said, this is the best nail book ever.)
