bright young thing

for spring eyeliner, the fuchsia is now.

We love the neon eyeliner making the rounds in music videos, fashion editorials, and Top Model episodes this season.

But if you're not Nicki Minaj, Daisy Lowe, or Jamie Chung, can you really pull off the neon cat-eye trend? We recruited intern Jamila Rowser, 24, to test it in real life.

We applied Make Up For Ever's new Aqua eyeliner in Iridescent Fuchsia, and although we kept Jamila's face free of other makeup, we think it made a big and bright impact.  The formula went on easily, with a little more shine than we expected.  If you want the same opaque effect, use 2-3 coats of the liner; if you want it to blend a little into shadow, 1-2 coats is just fine.

The new tube costs $23, which is a little expensive, but the liner will last all day or night, and the pigment is so deep and true to the color it shows on the packaging, we'd be willing to splurge it for the perfect rainbow eye (especially since it also comes in purple, orange, and blue).

Make Up For Ever Aqua eyeliner, $23 at Sephora.
