Bel Powley Is A Young Genius In The ‘Carrie Pilby’ Trailer
In theaters March 31
Those desperate for their Bel Powley fix after falling for the British ingenue in The Diary of a Teenage Girl can finally breathe easy. Carrie Pilby, which once again finds Powley as a precocious teenager trying to make sense of the world around her, is right around the corner. In the first trailer, Powley shines as the titular heroine, a hyper-intelligent 18-year-old Harvard grad who has trouble fitting in because, well, she's smarter than everyone else in the room. We totally know the feeling.
Directed by newcomer Susan Johnson and based on Caren Lissner's eponymous novel, Carrie Pilby had its premiere in Toronto last fall, and once again Powley shows off her considerable skills, with The Guardian calling her "absolutely electrifying" as the young genius. Jason Ritter, Gabriel Bryne, Nathan Lane, and Vanessa Bayer also star.
Few things are more exciting than watching a young actress come into her own. Find out what we mean when Carrie Pilby hits theaters on March 31 and streams on VOD starting April. Watch the trailer above.
