city find: sunday funday every day

this austin shopping haven also comes with coffee & donuts!

If your ideal Sunday means shopping for the ultimate vintage dress while noshing on organic baked goods and washing them down with Stumptown coffee, well, you're not alone. It seems that if we could only have this combo every day of the week, life would be even a little more awesome. The good news? If you live in Austin, you can have the best both worlds every day, thanks to bar-slash-coffee shop-slash-vintage boutique Friends & Neighbors--and if you don't live in Austin? It looks like you'll be taking a vacation.

The fave new spot opened up on East Cesar Chavez Street earlier this spring, and brought with it handmade pottery and terrariums, sandals, rad jewelry, lip balm made with locally sources ingredients--and even a local zine--from over 30 different vendors (think Victory Press, Dream Collective, and Halona Glass). Not only can you shop for everything you ever wanted to deck out your apartment and your life, but Friends & Neighbors also sells a hand-selected collection of vintage pieces that you definitely can't live without.

Even cooler (as if this spot wasn't already cool enough), is that all of the venue's treasures are grouped together inside different rooms of an old house (just check the gallery to see what we mean) and they serve Micheladas--so yum!

So, yes, now would be the time to go hook yourself up with some new jewelry, a cappuccino, or a vacation to Austin. Go ahead, you can tell your boss NYLON made you do it.

P.S. If you're a local, stay up-to-date with Friends & Neighbors' seriously cool parties (like their Sangria Sundays, Vintage Bazaar, and Bill Murray Drink'n'Draw) by following them on Facebook!
