Watch David Bowie’s Disturbing Video For ‘Lazarus’

He’s Back

by daniel barna

Creepy David Bowie is back, and he's creepier than ever. The iconic singer's love of the macabre is on full display in the brand new video for "Lazarus" off his 25th (!!!) studio album Blackstar, and first since 2013's underrated The Next DayDirected by former Breaking Bad helmer Johan Renck, the clip features a hospitalized, blindfolded, and bed-ridden Bowie, who's clearly in a lot of pain.

“One could only dream about collaborating with a mind like that; let alone twice,” said Renck, who also directed the video for the album's title track. “Intuitive, playful, mysterious and profound… I have no desire to do any more videos knowing the process never ever gets as formidable and fulfilling as this was. I’ve basically touched the sun.”

Blackstar arrives Friday. Watch the video for "Lazarus" above.
