Demi Lovato Kills It On AMA Red Carpet, Sings With Alanis Morissette
so confident.
As Demi Lovato continues her redemption tour—one that has produced the surprisingly good Confident album and endeared her to our hearts—she hit upon two great moments at the American Music Awards last night, one on stage and one on the red carpet.
First off, there was this: A head-to-toe Jazz Era look on the red carpet featuring full-on flapper hair, an embellished gown by Lorena Sarbu, and ‘tude.

All things considered, it’s a grown-up look for Lovato, who has been trending toward rocker looks and short skirts as of late. Approved!
Then, Lovato hit the stage for a performance of her single “Confident,” which she, of course, nailed.
Here biggest moment of the night, however was a duet of “You Oughta Know” with Alanis Morissette herself. As you can hear, everyone’s big, big voices were extra-big last night.
It’s a good match of artist and song, actually. Lovato has been channelling that “all-out-of-Fs” thing for the last couple years, and the 1995 song certainly has a lot of that. Also, it’s another perfectly good excuse to see Morissette perform one of her big hits in the spotlight. We don’t know exactly why Alanis is everywhere all the time right now, but we’re not going to second guess it. Gold stars all around.
