31 Days of DIY Denim: Day 30, Denim Bandana

Check out today’s project

by nylon

NYLON staffers created unique, DIY projects using denim in honor of our annual Denim Issue. Check back here every day of August to see a new project.

What you’ll need:

Measuring tape (you’ll want the flexible kind)

Denim large enough to cover your head

Pencil/marker

Scissors

Hot glue gun

Studs (or any other decorations you want)

Directions:

Step 1: Using the measuring tape, measure the circumference of your head, as if you were wearing a headband.

Step 2: Draw a line on the denim, marking the length of the measurement.

Step 3: Add 3 to 4 inches on each side, so that you’ll have extra fabric to tie around your head.

Step 4: Leaving those extra inches on each side, draw a triangle shape.

Step 5: Cut out the silhouette. You might even want to add fringe to the edges with the scissors.

Step 6: Using the hot glue gun, attach the studs or whatever decorations you’ve chosen.
