NYLON staffers created unique, DIY projects using denim in honor of our annual Denim Issue. Check back here every day of August to see a new project.

What you’ll need:Measuring tape (you’ll want the flexible kind)
Denim large enough to cover your headPencil/markerScissorsHot glue gunStuds (or any other decorations you want)

Directions:Step 1: Using the measuring tape, measure the circumference of your head, as if you were wearing a headband.

Step 2: Draw a line on the denim, marking the length of the measurement.

Step 3: Add 3 to 4 inches on each side, so that you’ll have extra fabric to tie around your head.

Step 4: Leaving those extra inches on each side, draw a triangle shape.

Step 5: Cut out the silhouette. You might even want to add fringe to the edges with the scissors.

Step 6: Using the hot glue gun, attach the studs or whatever decorations you’ve chosen.
