Watch Ed Sheeran, The Roots And Jimmy Fallon Perform With Classroom Instruments

Pass the banana shaker

by Sydney Gore

They say that you can create anything using your imagination, but does the same logic apply to live television? Turns, you can make music out of whatever is at your disposal if you're Ed Sheeran. The singer-songwriter recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a special performance of his single "Shape Of You." The twist was that Sheeran would have to perform the song using a new class of instruments—the kind that you'd find laying around in a pre-school.

Sheeran took the lead with a banana shaker while Fallon showed off his multi-instrumentalist skills on a Casio keyboard, guiro, bass drum, and wooden blocks. Meanwhile, The Roots rocked steady on a xylophone, tambourine, kazoo, ukulele, apple shaker, and bongos.

Not only was the whole charade amusing and incredibly entertaining, but they actually pulled this off. Thumbs up all around, boys!  Watch the whole show go down in the video, above.
