Beauty

the thin red line

how to go rouge like elle fanning.

by steff yotka

Red eyes have a bad rep. They're associate with the crying vampires of True Blood and the dead-stares of over-worked college students. But Elle Fanning is here to prove that a little red eye can actually be a great idea.

At an event promoting Maleficent in London, Fanning sported some serious red eyeshadow to compliment her Georges Hobeika couture dress and pastel flower crown. We're guessing she's going for a Sleeping Beauty-meets-Maleficent look, and we love it. Sure, it's probably not for everyday, but for those occasions you want to add a little whimsy to your life (and your beauty routine) try out some of the rouge eyeshadows in the slideshow at right.

When it comes to applying, we'd say more is more. Just a little redness a tired girl does make--this is a go big or go home situation.
