Video Premiere: Emily King “The Animals”
r&b with a soul twist
With rad-as-hell hair and a voice that can turn heads anywhere, Grammy-nominated vocalist and songwriter Emily King is making waves in the music industry with her unique R&B sound.
A native New Yorker, King grew up with her musician parents on the Lower East Side. After earning her GED at the mere age of 16, she was able to fully immerse herself in her music career. The influence of her jazz singing parents and culturally diverse hometown influenced King to create an equally eclectic sound. With each song and bellow of her silky smooth voice, you can hear a range of tones from soul to jazz to old school R&B. Her powerful vocal chords and natural talent for songwriting has gained her many praises and the ability to tour with various artists such as John Legend, Alicia Keys, and Maroon 5.
And with the release of King’s self-written sophomore album, The Switch, on June 26th, we are premiering the singer-songwriters video for a fresh new single called “The Animals.” This new tune is a clear departure from King’s original sound, in the best way possible.
