When you imagine a meal involving a biscuit, what do picture? A sandwhich with bacon and eggs? Smothered in gravy? Well, the homies over at
are taking these old-school Southern flavors and giving them a big city twist.
Offering sandwiches, dessert biscuits and over 22 different spreads, we had no idea where to begin. We were completely overwhelmed by this extensive menu--so it was suggested that the scotch egg with cheddar and whole grain mustard sandwich was a good place to start. Having no idea what a scotch egg was prior to this moment, they informed us that it's a poached egg, wrapped in sausage and deep fried… basically everything you could ever want in a breakfast sandwich. Remember how awesome it was the first time you ever made out? It's kind of like that, but every single bite...this is delicious food love.
After washing down our new favorite sandwich with some fresh brewed
, the next move was to take a trip to the dessert side of the menu. Have you ever had a biscuit with maple syrup butter and pumpkin pie spread? It's absolutely 110-percent awesome. Every bite tastes like Thanksgiving dessert, except this time, you're not extremely full of turkey.
As it starts to warm up, Empire Biscuits plans to implement a delivery service, bringing their tasty biscuits to surrounding areas--we just hope we're in their delivery range. It's also very important to mention that they're open 24 hours a day, so you can get your biscuit fix whenever the time strikes you.
