The 7 Accessories Trends We’ll Be Seeing Everywhere Next Fall

Start taking notes

by Jenna Igneri

As tired of winter as we may be, we can’t help but feel major wardrobe inspiration from all the fall collections we’ve ogled this past month from New York to London, Milan, and Paris. Is it even possible to be dreaming of next fall when we haven’t yet enjoyed spring and summer’s warmth? Well, yes! Especially when there are Versace floral boots involved.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re really looking forward to busting out our sandals and beach bags in the coming months, but fall 2017’s accessories were just too good. Patent leather newsboy caps? Clear shoes? We can barely contain our excitement. Suddenly, September feels so far away.

From gigantic handbags to your hip-hop inspired chains, we rounded up the seven major trends we saw hitting the runways so you can start your shopping list a bit early. Read on to see what you'll want to be wearing later this year.

Floral boots of all sorts

Come this September, fall florals will be all over our feet by way of brocade, embroidery, and colorful, painted leather.

Brooches are back

While we've been spending the past few seasons going pin and patch crazy, it looks like we'll be returning to old-school grandma brooches for fall.

Sunnies that make quite the statement

Runway eyewear this season was not for the faintest of heart. Fall's shades will go beyond functionality and serve as a statement piece to tie your look together.

Chains on chains on chains

Dainty jewelry, who? This season we saw an emphasis on heavy, layered hip-hop inspired chains. We'll be piling them on come autumn.

Oversize bags

Finally, it's possible (and stylish) to carry around our entire lives with us at all times. At Gucci, we saw huge tote bags, while at Michael Kors and Proenza Schouler, we saw gigantic slouchy bags that could double as a weekender.

Newsboy-like hats

This season, we saw newsboy-like caps of all varieties flooding the runways. Whether slouchy, structured, or patent, this fall is destined to be the season of hats.

See-through shoes

We can finally all ditch those uncomfortable peep toes, as this fall is all about showing a little skin (or practically your entire foot, like at Calvin Klein) by way of clear plastic paneling.
