The 4 Easy-To-Pull-Off Fall Trends We’ll Be Shopping This Season

Because we’re not all risk-takers

Since we feasted our eyes on the glorious Fall 2018 runways back in February, we’ve been patiently waiting for the time to incorporate these trends into our own wardrobes. We’re pretty keen on making sure we hit all of them—and if the runways were any indication of what to expect this season, then we’re in for a colorful, patterned, wild ride.

But, let’s face it: Some trends are harder to pull off than others. Not all of us can rock a prairie dress, and holographic PVC is not for everyone either. That whole oversized ‘80s thing we saw at Marc Jacobs? That could easily prove to be disastrous.

Fear not—there were plenty of trends for Fall 2018 that require little to zero effort to pull off. In fact, you might already have them in your closet. Below, we show you how to shop the four runway trends that anybody can pull off.

Cher Horowitz plaid

We’re always here for a good fall plaid, but this season, we’re throwing it back to 1995 à la Cher Horowitz. We saw yellow plaids rule the runway at Versace, Michael Kors, and more. As if!

R13, Floral Panelled Plaid Shirt, $375, available at Farfetch; Callipygian, Plaid Kick Flare Pants, $195, available at Opening Ceremony; Stradivarius, Yellow Plaid Longline Blazer and Pants Suit, $72, available at ASOS; Missguided, Yellow Checked Cropped Denim Jacket, $60, available at Missguided; Miaou, Racquel Top in Yellow Plaid, $195, available at Miaou.

Oversized bags

Look, we’ll always have love for the tiny purse, but we’d be lying if we didn’t admit that we were relieved to finally see a trend that will fit all of our shit. Take note from Victoria Beckham and Coach, and trade in your mini for a maxi, stat.

Baggu, Duck Bag, $42, available at Baggu; Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Anaise Tote in Sparkle, $335, available at Lisa Says Gah; ASOS, Oversized Structure Shopper Bag with Contrast Detail, $45, available at ASOS; Mango, Pebbled Shopper Bag, $59.99, available at Mango; MM6 Maison Margiela. Japanese Tote Bag, $195, available at Farfetch.

Bright pink

While vibrant brights of all sort ruled the runways back in February, one color, in particular, reigned supreme: pink. We saw variations of magenta and bubblegum from Alexander Wang to Tory Burch, and, to be honest, we weren’t sad to formally kiss millennial pink goodbye.

Topshop, One Shoulder Drop Jacquard Dress, $95, available at Topshop; Ganni, Denim Jumpsuit, $475, available at Ganni; Zara, Oversized Sweater, $49.90, available at Zara; Mango, Ruffled Midi Dress, $79.99, available at Mango; Alexander Wang, Satin Attica Mini Fanny Pack, $695, available at Alexander Wang.

Western boots

There’s no denying the influence of the Wild Wild West in fashion as of late. If you’re not yet ready for a prairie dress or bolo tie, try snagging a pair of Western-inspired boots for a low commitment look. Yeehaw!

Topshop, Bingo Western Boots, $180, available at Topshop; Coach, Nora Chelsea Bootie with Studs, $295, available at Coach; Tibi, Felix Boots, $795, available at Tibi; Dolce Vita, Shanta Booties, $160, available at Dolce Vita; & Other Stories, Western Ankle Boots, $175, available at & Other Stories.
