With apologies to those nutty cotton commercials, some trends really do become part of the fabric of our lives. Skinny jeans, peasant tops, and ballet flats started off as Hollywood and runway phenomenons, but they've quickly become everyday staples. Next on that list is tie-dye - despite Blair Waldorf insulting the surf print as "last season" on Gossip Girl, the beachy wave started by Proenza Schouler two years ago just won't quit - and thanks to Target, it shouldn't have to.
They've teamed with the boho-luxe label Calypso St. Barth, creating the next generation of tie-dye must haves in blouses, tees, dresses, flip flops, and even some home decor stuff (tie dye mixing bowl, anyone?).
The collection launches May 1, and also includes some major crochet tops a la Roberto Cavalli's spring show. Let's just say finding a place in our closet (and our bank account) for this stuff won't be hard...
