Five NYFW Trends To Try Now

from tinsel to bell sleeves, why wait until next fall?

Why wait until fall to be on trend when you could start now? After attending hundreds of New York Fashion Week shows this past week, we've done some research and figured out what trends you can start dabbling in now and be fully ready to take into next fall pretty easily. Since Fashion Week (or month) is showing fall's best right now, these clothes are perfect and fitting for what we all want to be wearing at the moment too. And thanks to fast fashion, we should be able to get our hands on some of these trends before Fall 2016 officially hits us—no need to fret babes, you'll be the most stylish ones out there. So you can hit these trends early, we've picked five winning styles to ease you into Fall 2016. Check them out in the gallery.

Metallic Shoes: Jill Stuart, Proenza Schouler, Tommy HilfigerWho says you can only wear fun shoes to party? Lucky for us, NYFW designers showed shoes that scream good time, and make us wanna dance. Metallic shoes have always been around, in one way or another, but for Fall 2016 they will definitely be making a whole new statement. Start now girls. Grab a pair of fun colored metallic ankle boots and wear them all the way into fall.

Tinsel: Adam Selman, Jeremy Scott, MillyNothing like a little tinsel and sparkle get us in the mood for NYE. Our favorite New York designers brought that festive feeling to the runways, making it our newest favorite trend to wear for Fall 2016. Grab a fuzzy tinsel sweater now and try it out in your everyday looks, over a cute dress, or paired with some jeans and a tee to dress up your outfit.

Bell Sleeves: Derek Lam, Claudia Li, KaelenThis season designers brought back the '70s in a new way. The bell sleeve has come and gone multiple times, but this time, designers took a more minimalist approach—using shirting fabrics instead of regular cotton, and more sophisticated silhouettes in place of something more flowing. Grab the style in a crisp white or with a pinstripe, and create that chic look you've been dreaming of.

Asymmetric Silhouettes: BCBG, Rag & Bone, TibiSomething about asymmetrical silhouettes feels, or makes us feel like we're back in middle school. Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, anyone? Whether it be an unbalanced hem or a neckline (or both), it's something we aren't used to anymore. It's a trend that you guys will want to ease into. Maybe try a slanted collar before going straight for a hemline that screams 8th-grade homecoming in your mind.

Backless: Narciso Rodriguez, Cushnie et Ochs, ADEAMWant to wear something a bit more risky without showing everything off? Fall 2016 will be the season for backless shirts and sweaters, which we know, can be a little difficult to wear. What bra do you wear? Try it out by layering something underneath, like a T-shirt or a camisole, if you aren't comfortable with the look as is. See how that works on you before stripping down and showing that bare back in its full glory. If you are comfortable, good news—you're right on trend and should go for it.
