Old-fashioned oats 2.0

by Brittany Bennett

You don’t have to wear Birkenstocks to chow down on homemade granola. So keep that dollar you were about to feed the office vending machine for your travel jar, and stash a container of your very own granola in your desk drawer for a midday energy revival instead. Yes, create your own granola blend and avoid cereal aisles forever more. In just 35 minutes you can stock your own shelves with a personalized batch of the chunky snack mix.

The beauty of turning your kitchen into a granola factory? You’re aware that there’s no added sugar or preservatives topping your morning yogurt bowl. Consider the mixing bowl of oats your cauldron. You can adapt recipes to all your palette likes and needs. Allergic to nuts? Remove them from the recipe! If you’re vegan, use agave instead of honey.

Dress up old-fashioned oats regardless of your taste in shoes because the only taste that matters here is what’s in the bowl.
