The News: Hailee Steinfeld Joins Pitch Perfect 2 Cast!
We couldn't be happier about our May issue cover star's latest role! Director Elizabeth Banks tweeted the news to Steinfeld; shortly after she posted a pic of herself with the text, "Welcome to the Bellas," on her Instagram. Here's to hoping she gets her own song that hits the Top 40 charts a la "Cups" by Anna Kendrick.
The Look: Rodarte Ankle Booties
My Instagram has been blowing up with pictures of friends sporting these Rodarte ankle boots, and I think the jealousy has finally got me. The '60s-meets-'90s boots look like what Twiggy would wear at the mod-est of her mod days, so, yes, I need them right now.
The Face: Tarte Lipsurgence Matte Lip Tint in Hope
When warm weather hits, there's no time for putting on makeup--you could be outside! That's why I hide away all my lipsticks and go for this lip tint from Tarte. It has a burst of color, goes on like a balm, and fits into every bag. Win-win-win.
The Inspiration: Flower Crowns
Is there a better way to celebrate May Day than with a flower crown?! (No.) I'm taking a little inspo today from the boys of Foxygen, who sported floral headpieces in the black and white photo above, and also from the flower crown I made last weekend for our Newsletter Editor, Jackie Yaeger, on her B-day. Making the crown was not too hard...OK it was sort of hard, but I'm pretty pleased with the end result. I promise I'll do a DIY post on how to make one soon!

And in the spirit of Foxygen, I'm throwing back to last spring when their song "San Francisco" was the soundtrack to every picnic in the park.
