Hi Fashion Has A Special Delivery, And It’s L-O-V-E

Just for you

by Hayden Manders

Hope you've dusted your disco shoes off because Hi Fashion has a special delivery for you, and it requires the sparkliest, most fabulous of footwear.

This Pride month, the electro-pop duo has collaborated with Bloomingdale's for a bright, rainbow of a visual project (and in-store performance). Working with 3-D animator and trans artist Brianna Amore, Hi Fashion celebrates love and all its colors with a new music video for their 2013 song "Special Delivery Love." Already a dance floor mainstay, Hi Fashion elevates its message of pride, love, and acceptance through its troop of dancers, Amore's art, and rooms dedicated to all colors of the Pride flag.

Speaking to NYLON over email, Hi Fashion explained: "Dancers and singers express their individuality and community in fashions styled by the Bloomingdale’s fashion department through dance, movement, and runway, and the whole experience culminates in an ecstatic queer party with Jen DM officiating." They went on to emphasize the song's meaning, saying it's about "the power of love. In the wake of the recent attacks on the LGBTQIIA community, this message is more relevant than ever. Love drives us to fight for what is right, to heal, to protect, to forgive, to gather, to celebrate. Love is always a special delivery. It is a gift and a responsibility. This project has reminded us it is the path we always want to choose in all life circumstances: joy, sorrow, and community."

If you're in New York City this Friday, Hi Fashion will be performing live in Bloomingdale's windows on 59th Street at 12:30pm to kick off Pride Weekend. More info on that here. Talk about a special delivery, indeed.
