The Question: I'm really into tube midi-skirts, but every time I try one on I can't think of a single way to wear it in winter that would actually be flattering (other than pairing with giant heels, which I'm not so much a fan of). What's your styling suggestion, especially in winter?
The Answer: The midi skirt was all over the fall '13 runways so I can understand your obsession. I'm into the contrast of the conservative length with a chunky lug sole ankle boot a la Prada, which is the perfect winter solution. Heeled booties also work or do a low-cut sneaker for a sportier look. Balance the proportions of a longer length skirt with a short boxy coat that hits just around the hip. I also love the contradiction of a conservative lady-like skirt with a graphic crew neck sweatshirt or an oversized menswear style pullover sweater. Check out the slideshow to see my favorite ways to wear the new skirt length.
