Jennifer Lawrence Wants You To Help Her Raise Money For A Children’s Hospital
do it for the kids
Just because Jennifer Lawrence has made it big doesn't mean she's forgotten about the people back in her home state of Kentucky. Just in time for Valentine's Day, the 25-year-old actress is spreading the love by donating $2 million to Kosair Children’s Hospital, based in her native state—and she's asking for others to lend a helping hand, too.
The Jennifer Lawrence Foundation has given the funding to Kosair Children’s Hospital in order to create the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. This heaping donation doesn't come randomly, though. Over the past three years, Lawrence has repeatedly visited with sick children in the hospital, especially during the holiday season. In a video posted on the hospital's YouTube channel, JLaw has also asked that members of the community pitch in what they can to match her $2 million, for a total of $4 million toward helping children in the place where she grew up.
It's always heartening to see celebs using their influence (and wealth) for good, and Lawrence's large following is sure to help get the hospital outfitted with everything it needs to take care of kids. You can donate here to help support the cause.
