Jesse Eisenberg is currently in London, where he's starring in "The Spoils," a play he also wrote. Over the weekend, the actor was on his way to the Trafalgar Studios theater in London's West End, where the play is being performed, when he came across a group of anti-LGBTQA protesters who were spewing hate during the city's Pride weekend. The group were holding up signs that read things like, "Abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul," and "Whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." As the video above shows, Eisenberg approaches the protesters while one of them asks, "Is your mind closed?" A bemused Eisenberg, shaking his head in disbelief, responded in kind: "Is my mind closed? Dude, you're so fucked up."
The encounter, which has gone viral, comes at a time of both heightened tension and solidarity in the LGBTQA community in the wake of the shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. In New York, Hillary Clinton surprised and delighted crowds when she made an unannounced appearance at the city's pride parade. And while she didn't speak, the watershed moment marked the first time a major party's presidential nominee marched in a Pride parade.
