Karlie Kloss is a cool (kool?) model who does more than pose for pictures and while being really, really ridiculously good looking. In her own words, she’s a “model, ballerina, [and] a cookie expert.” Kloss also codes, making her literally cooler than cool. (But is she ice cold?)
Over the past year, the 22-year-old has been taking coding classes and has discovered how creative the field can be. Now, instead of just talking about how cool coding is, she’s partnered with the Flatiron School to award 20 young women a scholarship to take the the same two-week program she took. It’s appropriately called the Kode with Karlie Scholarship and all you have to do to enter is make a 60-second video explaining why coding rules.
We’ve got to hand it to Kloss: This is seriously badass. Opportunities like this help young women learn the skills needed to thrive in traditionally male-dominated fields. Bravo, Karlie.
