The Royal Baby is Born, It’s a Girl!

One of the most famous people on the planet right now is the Princess of Cambridge and she’s only a day old.

The Duchess of Cambridge (also known as Princess Kate) welcomed a baby girl this morning. Born at St. Mary’s Hospital in London at 8:34 am, she weighed a perfectly healthy 8 lbs., 3 oz. Now we just have to wait for her name. Kate and William named their last child, now an adorable 21 months old, George. If that’s any clue to what their new bundle of joy will be dubbed... we’re hoping it’s Diana.

We may not all be in London to chant “God Save the Queen” outside Kensington Palace (yes, people are doing this) but we can spread our joy via the web. After all, the news was announced on the Kensington Palace twitter page and read, “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8:34am.”

For all you Royal baby fanatics, you can follow the live updates at The Telegraph. There’s even a rolling time log of how long since she’s been born.
