One part Washington, D.C., one part girl power

Get ready to whip out your wallets. Kerry Washington’s collaborative collection with OPI has just dropped. On the heels of the RNC and DNC, the brand tapped Washington to work with them on their fall line, which is all about the Washington, D.C. woman. With such a history-making election and a very likely possibility that America will have its first female president, the 15-color collection couldn’t have come at a better time.

Washington worked closely with OPI co-founder Suzi Weiss-Fischmann to develop and name 12 new permanent colors, as well as 3 limited-edition shades. The collection puts a sophisticated and dramatic spin on the fall hues, from deep greens and browns to vibrant reds and yellow. With names such as “Madam President” and “We The Female,” it’s quite the girl power collection. All shades are also available in GelColor formulas, so you can test them at your salon as well.

“It’s a real art and science to develop color that will appeal to women of all types and skin tones and that mirrors and complements the runway trends for the season,” Washington said in the press release. “Nail color is a simple but impactful form of individual expression. Wearing bold shades like these is empowering and uplifting, not to mention a perfect way to show some election year spirit!” she added.

Washington couldn’t be a better choice for this collaboration. Known for her portrayal as Olivia Pope on ABC’s Scandal, breaking barriers for black women in television, she was also appointed to the President’ Committee of the Arts And Humanities in 2009 and is quite the activist.

All 15 colors are available online at Ulta, starting today. Click through the gallery below to take a closer look each new shade.

We wonder if we’ll spot Hil rocking one of the shades.
