song premiere: kitten

stream the first track off their debut album!

Considering KITTEN has been our Band Crush for years--we featured frontwoman Chloe Chaidez way back in 2012--it's crazy to think that we're still waiting for her debut full-length. Luckily we don't have to wait much longer, since the L.A. band's self-titled album is finally dropping this June.

Obviously we can expect Chaidez's brand of kickass power pop (see tracks like "Cut It Out" and "G#" for a refresher), but for her first single "Why I Wait," the musician shows off an intimate, stripped-down side of herself. Taking cues from everyone from Drake to Arca, the atmospheric anthem also has hints of fellow indie babes like Banks and Charli XCX. Bottom line: this is a cinematic jam that most definitely belongs in the movie of your life, so get a first listen here!

Stay tuned for KITTEN's debut album, out June 24.
