Korean beauty is continuing its long overdue takeover. Products that were once only available on niche websites and via sketchy Amazon sellers are becoming more and more accessible for the western markets. First, by way of Nordstrom and Macy’s stocking popular brands, and now the drugstore market is cashing in on the fun.
Just yesterday, CVS announced that they were bringing the wonders of Seoul to its beauty aisles. Starting April 2, 100 CVS stores nationwide will stock more than 100 new and exclusive k-beauty products. Huzzah!
“With the launch of the new K-Beauty HQ, we’re able to deliver an extensive collection of new, on-trend products across healthy skincare and playful beauty,” Alex Perez-Tenessa, CVS’ vice president of beauty, said in a statement. Alicia Yoon, founder of Peach & Lily, is also debuting a new brand, Peach Slices, exclusive to the drugstore.
If you’ve been putting off sipping the k-beauty Koolaid, now is the perfect moment to pour yourself a cup. There’s a whole lot to look forward to and, ahead, we give you a little helping of what’s in store. Hint: lots of sheet masks are involved. Naturally.
